ARTICLE XIV - AUTOMATION
1. Regular employees on the payroll of the Freeman on the date of signing will not be dismissed as a result of the introduction of new or modified equipment for the duration of this contract.
2. The Guild will be given sixty (60) days notice of intent to introduce new or modified equipment, machines or apparatus which will create a new job classification within the bargaining unit or alter the job content of an existing job classification. Should the Publisher create a new job classification within the bargaining unit, he will furnish the Guild with a job description, and the Publisher and the Guild will negotiate a new minimum.
3. The foregoing will not be construed to limit, in any way, the Publisher's introducing new equipment to his operation. In the event that the Publisher and the Guild cannot reach agreement on a new minimum for a new job classification prior to the expiration of the current contract, the minimum negotiated subsequently in the next contract will be retroactively effective on the date the new job classification was effective.
